The Autumn Grounding | 27th-30th October 2026

An immersive four-day retreat celebrating the beauty of the season – from garden to table.

Welcome, we’re so glad you’re here.

Step through the garden gate into a place where time slows down. Through seasonal experiences, nature connection, beautiful food and exceptional hospitality, we’ll help you reconnect with the land, the season and yourself.

Our Philosophy

We believe the changing seasons invite us to live a little differently.

Autumn has a way of encouraging us to slow our pace, gather together and appreciate life’s simpler pleasures. It is a season of abundance, of sharing good food, of crisp morning walks, cosy evenings by the fire and taking time to notice the beauty around us.

In a world that often asks us to keep doing more, we wanted to create a space where there is nothing to prove and nowhere else to be.

A place where meals are shared around a beautifully laid table, conversations unfold naturally, hands are busy creating, and time outdoors reconnects us with ourselves as much as with nature.

The Autumn Grounding is our invitation to step away from the everyday and embrace the quieter rhythm of the season.

To rest. To reconnect. To be cared for.

We hope you leave feeling lighter, calmer and wonderfully grounded.

Listening to the land

As the landscape softens into rich amber hues and crisp mornings announce the changing season, autumn invites us to slow our pace and reconnect with the rhythms of the natural world.

This intimate luxury retreat offers a rare, behind-the-scenes immersion into the heart of the ANRÁN gardens and grounds. Guided by the women who care for this landscape every day, you'll experience the estate through their eyes, discovering the stories held within the gardens, harvesting seasonal produce, and discovering the quiet rituals that shape life on the land.

Soil to table

Between time spent outdoors, you'll gather around the table to enjoy slow, soil-to-table dining, celebrating the abundance of the season with ingredients harvested from the estate. Produce picked just hours before arrives at the table transformed into nourishing breakfasts, leisurely garden lunches and candlelit suppers. Every bite deepens your connection to the living landscape around you.

There will be space to reflect on the year that's passed, embrace the stillness of autumn, and forge meaningful connections with like-minded women.

More than a getaway, The Autumn Grounding is an invitation to pause within a living, working landscape. To step away from the demands of everyday life, reconnect with what matters, and leave feeling deeply rooted, restored, and ready for the quieter months ahead.

Your retreat experience

Feel as though you’re staying in the home of a dear friend - there are no stiff formalities here. Pour yourself a warming drink, settle beside the fire with a book, wander through the gardens, or simply pause and watch the light move across the valley. The estate is yours to sink into.

Follow your own rhythm - this retreat unfolds at the pace your body needs. Join every gathering, workshop and shared meal, or step away whenever you crave solitude. There is no expectation, only an invitation to slow down and reconnect.

When it's time to leave, you'll take more than memories home. You'll carry a slower rhythm, a deeper connection to the natural world, and the quiet reassurance that, sometimes, the most restorative thing we can do is simply pause.

A day in the life…

This is a sample rhythm, the days will flow organically and activities and timings may differ from below. All the activities are optional, feel free to take time to yourself whenever you need.

Your Devon Sanctuary

ANRÁN takes its name from the Chinese characters ān and rán—a place of peace and tranquillity. As you look out across rolling hills, ancient trees and historic eighteenth-century stone buildings, you'll understand why.

This is a sanctuary of deep, unhurried quiet. A place where the outside world gently falls away and you feel held by the landscape itself.

At the end of each day, retreat to one of ANRÁN’s beautifully restored bedrooms, where historic character meets understated luxury.

Thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind, every room offers a peaceful sanctuary to unwind, rest and wake refreshed for another day of the retreat.

All bedrooms are individually styled, with luxury linens, premium toiletries and thoughtful touches to make you feel completely at home.

The Manor House: Built in 1840, the Grade II-listed Manor House is full of timeless elegance and relaxed country-house charm. Individually designed bedrooms blend period features with luxurious touches, creating warm, inviting spaces that feel both sophisticated and wonderfully comfortable.

The Converted Barns: Once traditional Devon farm buildings dating back to the late 1700s, the lovingly restored courtyard barns retain their original stone walls, exposed beams and rich history. Beautifully paired with crisp linens, contemporary bathrooms and calming interiors, they offer a peaceful blend of rustic character and modern comfort.

Whether you stay in a room in the Manor House or one of the Courtyard Barns, every room has been thoughtfully curated to provide a restful retreat - somewhere to slow down, sleep deeply and savour the quieter rhythm of your stay.

This is more than a few days away. It’s four days of being completely looked after. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be warmly welcomed into a beautiful country estate where exceptional hospitality, seasonal food and meaningful experiences invite you to slow down and reconnect with every detail having been thoughtfully considered.

All you need to do is arrive.
